Using the Display Backlight

• To turn on the display light for easy viewing at

night, press FNC + LIGHT. The display lights for

15 seconds.

• To turn off the light sooner, press FNC +LIGHT

again.

Information about “Birdies”

All radios can receive “Birdies” (undesired signals). If your

scanner stops during Scan mode and no sound is heard, it

might be receiving a birdie. Birdies are internally generated

signals inherent in the electronics of the receiver.

• Press L/O to lock out the channel, then press

Scan to resume scanning.
